Next up! In our #whatsyourwhy series? ??Firefighter Chris…and here’s what he’s gotta say, about why he chooses to be @endorphasm STRONG! ??
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Before coming to endorphasm, I was two years into my career as a firefighter. I thought I was as prepared as possible for the job I had chosen. I was at a point in my life where I didn’t even realize how badly I needed endorphasm and everything it stands for.
Early in my career I ran some fires that pushed my body to the absolute limit and it terrified me. What terrified me wasn’t the fire itself, but actually reaching the limits of my body and facing the consequences of that limit. I didn’t want to be the reason someone didn’t make it home to their family simply because I wouldn’t have the strength to carry them out.
Carlo and I went to recruit school in Petersburg and he had always tried to convince me to come to endorphasm. It was after those first few fires that I realized I needed to do whatever it took to better myself for my job. So, one day I showed up for class and despite the extreme soreness…. I was sold.
I found a place that not only motivated me and pushed me to my limit, but I also found a family of people who enjoyed being pushed and supported each other no matter what. It’s a funny realization when you start choosing to hang out with people from your gym over the rest of your friends. I love this place and everything it stands for. It is impossible to accurately explain what endorphasm is unless you experience it for yourself. The energy, the push, the people, and the endorphasm mentality is what I come for. This place is beyond a gym and I’m forever grateful for that.
Oh yeah…. and the beer. I may just be coming for the beer…. hahah #HELLYEAHChris! ??#endorphasmstrong #belike
